Professor Orwin's laboratory is involved in the design of a tissue-engineered artificial corneal model. We are creating a culture system for our tissues that can simulate physiological conditions and allow us to study the cellular and matrix factors which contribute to tissue transparency. This project is multi-faceted; we are using a variety of techniques in a multidisciplinary approach to this complicated problem.Facets
