Research Interests

Research interests involve the design of a tissue-engineered artificial cornea. The group is developing a collagen sponge scaffold material that supports corneal cell attachment and growth. We are designing an in vitro bioreactor system to simulate the biological environment of the cornea in order to study the effect of mechanical constraint on the transparency and function of the tissue.
