 Pre-Lab Assignment for Experiment #7:
Synthesis and Characterization of Liquid Crystals

The following data have been observed for the refractive indices of a cholesteryl chloride - cholesteryl nonanoate mixture.

Calculate the average refractive index and its standard deviation at each temperature.
Develop an equation for the line that represents the average refractive index as a function of temperature in the range 25 to 75 °C.
