Thermal Properties of an Ectothermic Animal

Analogous setup with thermocouple inserted into lizard's cloaca. Thermocouple wire is secured to the lizard's tail with electrical tape. Thermocouple is plugged into a digital thermometer for monitoring of cooling rate (i.e., temperature as a function of time). Lizard is secured on styrofoam with surgical thread nooses that are also threaded through the pegboard.
