Mechanical Resonance of a High-Rise Building

Illustration of the high-rise building on right, constructed of
aluminum rods and plates with DC motor mounted on the top
floor. Mounting of building to granite slab is not in
view. The red and blue wires of the DC motor are connected
to the DC power supply (box on right). The yellow tachometer
wires are connected to the frequency counter that is placed on top
of the oscilloscope (on left). The red and black wires of
the accelerometer are connected to the input of the signal
conditioner (in center), and the output of the signal conditioner
is connected to the oscilliscope. The accelerometer is not
in view.
