a textbook on structures (1997), the cover of which was designed by Miriam Dym and is shown above
a textbook on design, co-authored by Pat Little, Engineering Design: A Project-Based Introduction (1999, 2004; Spanish translation 2002), and for which Miriam also designed the cover
a textbook on systems engineering, Fundamentals of Modeling and Analyzing Engineering Systems, by Phil Cha, Jim Rosenberg, and me (2000), and guess who designed the cover of this one?

Revising and updating books:

a 1974 research monograph, Stability Theory and its Applications to Structural Mechanics, was republished by Dover Publications in September 2002
a second edition of Principles of Mathematical Modeling, originally published in 1980 and co-authored by Elizabeth S. (“Betty”) Ivey, was published in 2004

Member (2001-06), National Research Council Army Research Laboratory Technical Assessment Board; and Member (2001-06) and Chair (2003-06), Air and Ground Vehicle Technology Panel.
Review Coordinator (1999-2001), Paper Chair (2002) and Conference Chair (2003) of the Annual Design Theory and Methodology (DTM) Conferences, which are part of ASME's Design Engineering Technical Conferences (DETC).

Trying to attend to the important things in my life, notably my wife Joan Dym and my daughters: Jordana Dym, Assistant Professor of History at Skidmore College, and Miriam Dym, an artist who lives in Santa Cruz, California, and my first grandson, August Dym Noë, and first granddaughter, Courtney Makenna Anderson.
