Redundant I consists entirely of modifications of the voice of soprano Eva Vazzana singing a text by New York writer Mark R. Harborth. This computer processing permits, among other things, a "microscopic" view of the phonemes, or individual sounds within a word, and the changes within them. This work uses techniques of change ringing, a system of varying orders of pitches which developed as a folk art among the bell-ringers of England.

Recordings: On The Terrain of Possibilities, available from the EMF label. For ordering information, see the EMF CD distribution site, CDeMusic. A cassette version as well as the CD are also available from the Just Intonation Network and the Creative Musicians' Coalition. Also available on the CMC sampler.
