Information about Collateral Damage, a computer video
Duration: 6:25
Notes:
This is my first work in a medium I call "video concrète." Though I had the idea for the work much earlier, its realization only became possible with the technology of digital video editing. With digital video software and a bit of my own programming, I was able to digitally cut, splice, and mix video segments together with the same precision that I had previously had available only in the audio domain. The sound that makes up the music comes completely from the sounds on the video itself, though these sounds have often been modified by the computer.
