MATHEMATICS, ENGINEERING, SCIENCE ACHIEVEMENT (MESA) is an academic enrichment program of the University of California that serves educationally disadvantaged students with a focus, to the extent possible by law, on students from groups with low rates of eligibility to four-year institutions. MESA provides a pipeline of curricular and extracurricular services from elementary through university levels to increase the number of students who graduate with degrees in mathematics, science, and engineering. Since 1970, MESA has helped to build the scholastic skills of and provided support for students who have the potential to excel and who make a commitment to work hard.

Constituencies:   K-12 students and parents, personnel, public and independent colleges, community colleges, foundations, elected officials, private industry
